This petition urges Denison University to reverse its decision to close the Homestead, a long-standing intentional living community that has provided generations of students with a unique space for belonging, sustainability, and hands-on learning.

Why does the Stead need Saving?
In 2025 Denison announced the closing of the homestead, citing [reasons]. With this decision, Denison is ignoring both the thousands of students and alumni who hold the Homestead dear, and the immense value that such a unique project brings to Denison
Who Are We?
The save the stead initiative is led by a coalition of friends of the Homestead, including current Homies, friends of the Stead, and homie alums. This place, and the community we have found surrounding it is dear to our hearts, and we will not rest until Denison recognizes their mistake and chooses Homie love over destruction.

Are you part of an organization at Denison (Academic department, club, c3, music group etc.) which regularly hosts events?Are you tired of meeting in the low-vibe event spaces provided on campus (classrooms, Moonies, Lamson)?Then come host your event out at the Homestead!
